The Zero Waste Foundation launched the COP31 Digital Coordination Center, where opinions and suggestions can be submitted, and comprehensive information regarding the COP31 process is available.

The COP31 Digital Coordination Center, which paves the way for individuals and institutions to be informed about the 31st Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and allows anyone with an idea about COP31 to become a stakeholder by sharing their views, has been brought to life.

The Center, which aims for active multi-stakeholder participation in climate diplomacy, also stands out with its technical infrastructure prepared in line with sustainability principles.

The COP31 Digital Coordination Center website features COP processes, comprehensive information specific to COP31, and details regarding Türkiye's COP31 journey.

While a practical roadmap for participation is presented in the COP31 Zero Waste Summit Guide, comprehensive guides, documents containing technical details, and participation procedures are offered to users.

At https://cop.sifiratikvakfi.org/, individuals and institutions can easily submit their views/suggestions and participate as stakeholders via the "Share Your Idea" and "Become a Stakeholder" forms. Through these forms, it is aimed to classify actionable and concrete contributions and ensure the active participation of non-state actors.

Website Designed Considering Carbon Footprint

Developed with the principle of minimum data and maximum efficiency, the website prioritized energy efficiency in software development processes. In this context, while building the site, "Green Coding" was utilized, and modern software technologies were used without creating excess processing load.

By avoiding the repetition of unnecessary content on the website, lower energy consumption on the devices used was targeted. File sizes were reduced by 70 percent, and data transfer was minimized. In this way, carbon emissions were reduced by decreasing bandwidth usage.

Emine Erdoğan: "COP31 Digital Coordination Center Will Accelerate Sustainable Transformation"

Founder of the Zero Waste Movement, Chairperson of the UN Advisory Board of Eminent Persons on Zero Waste, and Honorary President of the Zero Waste Foundation, First Lady Emine Erdoğan, also made an evaluation regarding the Center.

Erdoğan stated, "The 'COP31 Digital Coordination Center' brought to life by our Zero Waste Foundation brings together the voices of non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and our citizens on the same ground. I wholeheartedly believe that this meaningful step will lead to a more active, fairer, and broad-based participation in the COP31 process. I hope that everyone who is eco-friendly will share their ideas with the digital center, which will accelerate sustainable transformation, and become a stakeholder in global climate diplomacy."
