Jens Nielsen

Jens Nielsen is the Founder and CEO of the World Climate Foundation (WCF), a global platform focused on sustainable economic transformation, established to support the creation and development of next-generation economic markets.

WCF was founded to address the fragmented and insufficiently inclusive nature of international climate efforts, by bringing together the actors shaping the future of the global economy across finance, industry, government, technology and civil society, and by accelerating the delivery of market-driven climate and nature solutions.

Under Jens Nielsen's leadership, WCF has grown into a globally recognised platform operating at the intersection of climate, nature, capital and geopolitics. Through its summits, coalitions, thought leadership and strategic partnerships, WCF brings decision-makers together around shared goals, mobilises investment, and develops the collaboration mechanisms and strategic partnerships needed for growth that is climate-resilient, aligned with net-zero emissions and positive for nature.

Jens has pioneered initiatives such as the World Climate Summit and the World Biodiversity Summit, as well as sector coalitions that support investment and market transformation in energy, mining, food systems, critical minerals and nature markets.

Among these initiatives, the Climate Investment Coalition helped mobilise a USD 130 billion clean energy investment commitment from pension funds in the Nordic countries and the United Kingdom, and pioneered joint financing models for the green transition.

Before founding WCF, Jens held senior roles at PwC, Cision PR Newswire, Mitsubishi Electric and in public institutions, gaining broad experience and expertise in finance, corporate strategy, communications, technology and market reform.

He also serves on the boards of organisations such as the GreenLab Innovation Foundation, the Climate Planet Foundation and ART 2030.

A regular speaker at leading international platforms, including COP climate and biodiversity summits, the TED Countdown Summit, Web Summit, and Climate Week events in New York, London and Rio de Janeiro, Jens Nielsen focuses on how mobilising capital, building strategic collaborations and positioning things correctly can accelerate the delivery of sustainable solutions within climate and nature boundaries and strengthen long-term economic resilience.
