Yılmaz Seçim

Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Seçim is an academic, researcher and civil society leader in the field of gastronomy and culinary arts. He serves as a faculty member and Head of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at the Faculty of Tourism, Necmettin Erbakan University.

With approximately 28 years of professional experience, Seçim works across education, tourism, gastronomy and academia. The author of numerous academic and professional works, and featured more than 100 times on national and international television programmes, he works to preserve traditional culinary culture, develop gastronomy tourism and promote local culinary values internationally.

Seçim is the Founding President of the Turkish Gastronomy Federation (TUGAFED). He also served as founding president of the Konya Gastronomy, Chefs and Tourism Professionals Association (KOGAT) and now holds the title of honorary president. He takes an active part in national and international gastronomy festivals, scientific congresses, culinary competitions and social responsibility projects.

Combining academic knowledge with industry experience and civil society work, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Seçim continues his work to research, sustain and pass on Turkish culinary culture to future generations.
